We are on air!

The Radio 3 program "Siglo XXI" has dedicated some time today to the creation of videogames for vintage systems in Spain. We have been interviewed, together with Relevo Videogames and The Mojon Twins.

Click on this link to listen to the program podcast. The interesting part starts at 40:30, and our interview at 44:45

Here I present a project that I have on my hands: This is a remake of "Livingstone ... I presume."
For those who don't remember the original game, I must say that it's a great classic from Opera Soft, created in the golden age of Spanish software, back in 1986.
Actually, the project began at CEZ GS, a few months before its dissolution. The idea for the main character's graphic was by LordFred, who made the first animation, based on the old man that appears on the original cover of the game (Let's face it, LordFred is unable to draw a wrong pixel). I was very impressed with the idea, and I decided to continue the rest of animations and graphics using the same style. You can see the result in this screenshot of the game running:

And you can compare it with this screenshot of the Amstrad CPC version:

I want to imitate the same scenes from the original game, but increasing the detail level using 256-color graphics and 24 fps animations.

Regarding the current status of the project, although the code is quite advanced, the graphics are still at their early stage (I have only made a few graphics and enemies for the jungle and all the animations of the main character) but everything will come...

I must also say that the project is currently on hold because I am 100% dedicated to finish another thing that will take a few days (I can't say more), but when that's finished, I'll resume work on this one immediately. Soon you'll have more news.

Regards!

Step by step, we're going to turn the static html pages to dynamic php ones, to improve our web and automatize the updates.

The first step is making the Retroblog a little bit more like a real blog, with comments, tags and all...

So now your're free to express yourself, do it!. (Of course we're also free to edit or erase anything that we feel unappropiate ).

At last, the new game from Manuel Pazos (Guillian) and Daniel Celemin (LordFred) arrives to our beloved MSX2 systems. This time it is a remake of the 8-bit classic "Knight Lore", with amazing graphics...

After some months... here it is... ready to download. We hope it's been worth the wait...

You can download from the game card.

Since the release of Gommy, medieval defender, some problems have been detected, and Pagantipaco has been working hard to fix them. So here we present you an update version so you can download and play it without fear of crashes or strange effects. What's new:

- A fire colliding with a shielded enemy won't crash the game.
- Fire thrower counters now work.
- Fires now burn the wall, and may open new ways for the enemies to go up.
- Water falls down, unaffected by obstacles that may deviate or break the rocks.

You can download the new version from the Game card

Special thanks to Gandulf, Jumping Stack and Shadow Maker for telling us about the problems.

We open the web with an 8 bits release for the ZX Spectrum. You probably have seen it in the front page... We're still working on the page in these moments... trying to polish it, improving sections specially so you can have fun navigating around it...

Take a look once in a while to see the news, improvements and so... So far we can say there's another surprise ahead... and it's good.
