We would like to present a new and old game... well, we are not crazy, it is really just like that!
Around 1991, our friends Acme and Mikomedes wrote a game for the Spectrum which got lost in the sands of time, until, just a year ago, they recovered it and made it work.
As time passes by for everyone and everything, they also decided to create a new version, updating most of the aspects of the game by using the new tools for programming Spectrum games, and taking advantage of the 128K models. So that is how 2 new games in 1 were born here at Retroworks:
The Chard (MIA 1991)
The Charm (2014)
«Long time ago, where the sun softly raised above the leafy forests and the day just counted a few hours. In misty, shadowy lands. Our hero, who can now be mentioned as such, whose name was then strange, Sir Oup, hanged on a gate that gave entrace to King Chardy's castle. The king had requested his presence...»
If you want to know more about the story, go to the game card... Oh! And it will be available to buy in cassette format, with a really nice cardboard box, at Retromadrid 2014!
Continuing with physical editions of our games availables at Retromadrid 2014, we have got the Gommy Medieval Defender deluxe release! A MSX cartridge presented in cardboard box. Do you know what "deluxe!" is? It's the best version adapted to the MSX of our Gommy game. It's better than the MSX 16k Cartridge version publised months ago.
In a few days Gommy deluxe! for MSX will be available in our game cards.
Here is the physical edition of Brunilda that we will sell at RetroMadrid 2014. Due to the great reception of the game, this time we want to offer a valuable edition with some extras. It consists on a handcrafted box and contains:
Brunilda the game in cardboard box that includes the tape with the game and its manual of instructions.
A pair of figures of the monks of the game, from Retropixeleadores.
An envelope of clues, sealed.
This edition is limited and numbered. It will be for sale in Retromadrid 2014 and in our e-shop if there is stock left after Retromadrid.
We are proud to announce that Gommy Medieval Defender MSX has been named GOTY 2013 by popular vote in the Konamito's blog MSXBlog.
We want here to thank everybody for all the support. We will have news about this game very soon. If you have not tried this fantastic version, here's the link so you get a little appetizer of things to come:
As an early gift from Santa Claus, we want release our new game today: Brunilda.
A game for 128k Spectrum, which was conceived as interactive fiction for PC but was never ended, and in the end has become an adventure game for Spectrum with a huge map to explore, and a very different development from the original planning.
We hope you like it and enjoy playing as much as we have enjoyed programming it.
The history starts right after you got your memory back in your previous adventure. That scroll you found turned out to be a music score containging the beats of what seemed to be a brief melody. The dim light in the hall didn't let you see which melody was it; so you lighted up a candle and held it near the scroll.
Finally we can release the second of our three "almost finished" games... Go to its game card to get it!
Genesis: dawn of a new day A horizontal scroll shoot'em up, with seven levels filled with enemies to be destroyed, a music score with 15 themes, and... well, you'd better check out the rest. Only for 128K Spectrums.
And remember, if you give us your feedback, you will help us to improve future games ;).
